It was one of those mornings, clear sky and nice weather. Even the usual trip to work seems like an adventure when you feel great. I just wanted to enjoy my day to the fullest and while waiting for the bus, bang it hit me. They were six people standing at the bus stop with me and all of them were looking at their phones!! I know this seems stereotypical but I found myself seeing more of these scenes every day. There is nothing wrong with being connected, but it seems like being online is turning into an addiction. I am not pointing fingers as I am as guilty as anyone else. It is just a little disappointing that these days people pay more attention to what is shown to them through their screens that what actually happen around them. They prefer looking at captured digits instead of reality. Now, get an image of my morning scenery, put a filter on it, post it online and people will devour it! Altogether, it is not that bad being all connected and don’t get me wrong digitalisation helped humanity a lot, but I think it is getting worse when people replace reality with cyber reality. When they just like something cause it appears on their small screens or just because everyone liked and shared it. It should be right, good and popular, cause it is online. And something as glorious the sunshine goes unnoticed if it is not “online”. I am not sure where we are heading to and if the border between reality and cyber reality is fading away. After all, maybe we are all inside a big simulation to start with.
